Who We Are Discover More About Us

KTSSC was established and registered on 5th November 2004.
KenToledo Social Service Club is proudly celebrating over two decades of service to the less fortunate in the Mathare slums, Nairobi, Kenya. Our primary focus has been on providing educational support for primary and secondary school students, based on the belief that education can liberate and empower children from slums, exposing them to new challenges in the modern world. Over the years, we have witnessed many of our children grow into responsible citizens thanks to our secondary school support program. During this period, we have had 15 students successfully advance to university and subsequently enter the job market. Some of these young adults have returned to inspire their peers in the slums, encouraging them to persevere and maintain hope.

**Mission Statement**

To nurture informed, value-driven, self-motivated, and integral individuals by harnessing everyone's inherent potential and capabilities within a supportive environment.

**Vision Statement**

To create a healthy society free from illiteracy and poverty through socio-economic empowerment, access to education, psychological support, and relocation to inhabitable environments.

**KTSSC Overall Goal**

To assist slum dwellers in Kenya in leading dignified lives in alignment with the Poverty Eradication Program (PEP), Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), and Kenyan Vision 2030.

As a community and faith-based organization, KTSSC was inspired by the golden rule: “Whatsoever you do to these little ones, you do it to me.” KTSSC is registered with the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Development at Nyayo House, Nairobi, under registration certificate number 11289. Our office is located at St. Vincent De Paul Ozanam House along Sebatayet Road, off Eastleigh Second Avenue in Nairobi, Kenya.

Since its inception, the organization has initiated and managed various projects. Our first and ongoing initiative is the educational support program. KTSSC has supported over 750 children and youth, with some still actively in the program. Currently, we are assisting 80 pupils in primary and secondary schools, 15 in vocational training institutes, and 3 in universities, with over 6 having completed their degree education. The children and youth receiving support include orphans, street children, destitute and vulnerable youths, and those less fortunate in the slums. Most of the beneficiaries’ parents are single mothers living with HIV.

Given the challenging environment from which our beneficiaries come, guidance and counseling have become integral to our program. KTSSC provides essential guidance and counseling for the children, youth, parents, and guardians. Each situation is carefully evaluated, and appropriate actions are taken based on information gathered during regular home and school visits, counseling sessions, and meetings. This approach is aimed at fostering self-acceptance, enhancing self-esteem, providing motivation, and equipping individuals to handle various challenges. KTSSC endeavors to alleviate poverty and promote holistic personal development. Consequently, we are expanding our activities to support more individuals in need and help them reclaim their dignity.

We are actively seeking sponsors to partner with us in order to increase our volume of activities. There are currently 35 cases of destitute and orphaned children on our waiting list, all in urgent need of support.

Contributing to charitable causes is essential.
